My talk is called Photographic Impressionism - Creating Beyond the Imagination.
It is about furthering one's imagination when making images. The very real rewards that can come from letting go of the constraints of conventional photography and allowing ourselves to be led by ideas and instinct. Not only with regard to subject matter but with colour, composition, focus, exposure and all the other doctrines that are held to be sacrosanct.
We have learnt to paint with our camera and instead of being preoccupied with replicating what we see, we are concerned with interpreting it and presenting an impression - abstract or otherwise.
