Studio lighting session to understand the basics of macro/still life photography, from budget set ups to dedicated macro lenses and lighting.

 Practical: choose one (or more) genres to shoot 3-4 images

A deep dive in to how to communicate through imagery, focusing on shooting and processing skills that will help you create more intentional and deliberately crafted images that reflect your intent

-          Basics of camera sensors and the nature of the digital medium

-          Field craft including framing, composition and design

A focus on creating impactful images from sports photography, capturing the action in a creative way. In this presentation I will share techniques and tips that will take you from standard imagery to striking pieces of work.

The presentation features stills from the worlds of athletics, para athletics, tennis, swimming, BMX and much more, captured at both local and international levels of competition, from amateur clubs to some of the biggest sporting events in the world.

Phil will be with us in the pub to show a recreation of great works of art. This enterprise has involved working with a large team of performers, crafters and organisations to ensure that the delivery is a true reflection of the original paintings.

This evening will be face-to-face in the pub. We would appreciate as many members to attend to give him the best audience numbers.

Our very own member Nick and his wife Alison started their road trip in Hell in Norway (literally !!),  drove across Sweden and up the Baltic coast, ending up in the Arctic Circle where their real journey from Hell started when their return  flight to Stockholm was cancelled and they had to make their own way back from 67.85 degrees North.
You may think (Nick did) that Sweden is just forests and lakes but you would be wrong - on their journey they saw some of the most spectacular waterfalls they had ever seen. They travelled back in time to the nineteenth century, passed...
