Zoom presentation: A recommendation from another Guest Speaker and friend of the Club. John will present After the coal dust. A Documentary series of images of Post War Britain following the closure of the coal mines. I’m sure will resonate with our Members in Newcastle.

It is very rare that we invite a Guest Speaker to come back so soon.  Last season we were so impressed with his Introduction of sports photography that he was back on my list of Guest Speakers for this season. He will be presenting to us on sports and Live Music. Providing an insight into his life as a freelance photographer.  The content will include: -

Before - what he does to prepare before going out on assignment (kit, doing his homework, clarifying requirements etc).

During - what happens during the shoot itself (arrival routine, camera settings, shooting plan...

Mini Project Street Photography:

Our very own Nick Lambert will present to us for a Mini Project on Street photography. Followed on Saturday for images on a photo walk. More information will be posted at a later date.

Peter Maguire CPAGB, LRPS, EFIAP/b, BPE1* will judge the Newcomers. With the IT Department showing Members images for the Knockout Competition. Your vote whittling down the images until we have a winner.

We have arranged for the PAGB winning prints from the GB Trophy to be on loan to us to review. A rare opportunity to handle and view amazing winning images of the highest level.

Local award-winning photographer will give a face-to face presentation covering Landscapes as part of our Mini Projects.

Mick started his photography with motorcycle racing before learning how to take wildlife images. Starting in the garden, then zoos, then hides before committing to tours abroad.

Before specialising in seals photographing them across the UK. Being awarded an honour in the Natural History Awards in 2021 with one his seal pictures. This year he has another seal image in the British Wildlife Photographer of the yearbook.

But tonight, he will be dealing with...

Roger an award-winning photographer will join us on Zoom from his home in Colchester Essex. He has been involved in photography for over 30 years and many of his achievements included being awarded three RPS Fellowships in the same year. He will present on Photographing Wildlife in your garden.

Members will present images from the recent landscape photo walk, sharing what they aimed to capture and whether they feel they succeeded. We expect to see a wide range of images from the day.

Gareth is the Founder, Chair and Programme Secretary of Cymru Mono. Set up to share knowledge, art, and technique of monochrome photography. He is also Chairman, Programme Secretary and External Competition Secretary of Afan Nedd. And three roles within the Welsh Photographic Federation. (Phew….. ) He is a Storyteller and will present to us his Mono Medley talk which covers different genres of photography. This is part of our Mini Project series, and we will follow up on Saturday with a photoshoot or photo walk to put these skills into practice.

Another Zoom return guest speaker Cherry’s last presentation in 2024 inspired our Summer School with her fine art images of flowers. On this occasion she will inspire us with her still life images.

Results Mono Print 2: Judge Gerald Chamberlin DPAGB, EFIAP

The competition results are coming thick and fast at this stage of the season. What points, awards, comments will Gerald give this evening?

It is our turn to host members from other clubs in the Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF). A chance to catch up with strangers who are friends. A venue will need to be arranged to accommodate a larger audience and refreshments will be served.

Triptych art is made up of three pieces or panels. Often used to impart narrative, create a sequence, or show different elements of the same subject matter, since its conception, the triptych has continued to add a new dimension to visual art.
