Tue 9 Jan 2024 - Nick Lambert Vietnam and Cambodia Ca[turing the moment

7:30pm

Another fellow member has volunteered to present to us images and stories from his travels.

Rather than presenting a traditional photo travelogue, Nick will show a selection of themes using related images which stand up as interesting in their own right… people, transport, International Women’s Day, etc. The thing that they all have in common is that they were captured “on the move” giving them all a feeling of immediacy

Tue 26 Sep 2023 - J P Stones. Storytelling for photographers

7:30pm

Photographing Aztec Dancers.

JP has spent the last decade photographing the same group of Mexica, or Azteca, dancers. In that time he learned how connected the Mexica are to their mythology, to ancient stories passed down across generations. That’s when he realised that, as these stories were so vital to Mexica culture, they needed to play a bigger role in his portraits.
