On Tuesday 23rd February we had our second print competition judged by Catherine Knee LRPS. Catherine only took up photography in 2013 and has begun exhibiting in international and national salons with quite some success. Her main interests in photography are Fine Art Nude, Portraiture and Fantasy Photographic Illustration.

As usual we provided the judge with a very wide genre of images encompassing probably every style except sport. Catherine had obviously studied each image in some detail and provided an empathetic and considered view of each one. Her comments were generally supportive as she had striven to understand what the photographer was trying to achieve and her pointers as to how the images could be improved provided some food for thought.

Again, there was a wide range of members entering the competition and again a wide range of winners, highly commended, and commended. Huge congratulations to Lesley for a deserved win and second place with two images which were complete contrasts; one a painterly image of a thistle and the second a masterly landscape. David Brown was a deserved third with an image of a Dunlin.
