The NCPF North Tyne Area annual PDI competition is being hosted by North Shields on Tuesday 31st March 2026. As with the 4-Way competition (see below) the two North Tyne Area competitions (Prints, PDI) have a combined 'Once-and-Forever' rule whereby once entered into either competition, it thereafter becomes inelligible for both competitions. Our entries for this competition are shown below, and will be updated with scores after the event.
Gosforth CC participates in a 4-Way Competition, the other 3 participating clubs being Morpeth CC, Cramlington CC and Gateshead CC. The competition comprises 2 legs, with leg 1 (PDIs: 10 per club) held in November and leg 2 (Prints: 5 monochrome and 5 colour per club) held in February. The winning club is the one with the highest total score from the combination of both legs. There is a 'once and forever' rule whereby any image, once used in either of the legs, may never again participate in the competition. Thus we 'use up' 20 images each year. In the current season (2025-26) Morpeth won both legs, and the final total scores were Morpeth (winner) 510, Gosforth (2nd) 493, Gateshead (3rd) 440 and Cramlington (4th) 436.
The NCPF Club Championships (for PDIs, and for Prints) were held on Sunday 22nd February 2026. In the PDI Championships, Keswick PS were winners with 273 points, and in second place was Gosforth CC with 261 point, just 4 points ahead of Richmond CC who scored 257. Because Keswick had already secured a place at the PAGB InterClub PDI Championships by being a finalist last season, all 3 clubs will now compete at the InterClub Championships in Birmingham. In the Prints Championships Keswick were 1st, Saltburn 2nd, Tynemouth 3rd and Gosforth a very respectable 4th with 251 points.
The NCPF North Tyne Area annual Prints Competition was held on 27th November 2025, hosted by Cramlington CC and judged by Bill Broadley. Tynemouth PS were the winners with 217 points and Gosforth CC were 2nd on 212. Cramlington CC 3rd (199), Whitley Bay PS 4th (195) and Ponteland PS 5th (193). North Shields PS did not enter (through an oversight error). The small trophy for best print went to Arthur Smith of Tynemouth PS for 'The Preacher'.
